Every end of year the nursing home old ladies ask for a simple Christmas gift… and this was the one I helped.
The sign says “Grandma Laurinha, 1 beauty kit (deodorant spray and lavander)”
Things like these makes me rethink a lot about life.

Eriko: I love your photo – especially the first one documents and tells a multi-layered story that is intriguing. I could see the photo from a simple spectator’s view, or a person who had a grandmother (was also feminine and would love to have a beauty kit always by her side!), or a photojournalist who wants to tell a story about a life of an elderly – maybe happy or sad – or both – cannot tell – and as a future grandmother. What a wonderful photo. I like candid images.
The second one is more technical, taken at a TEDx event this December.
I liked it because it was only possible with the wide lens from the new iphone, wouldn’t be possible with the old one.
I still did not find anything very inspirational. Probably my brain is frozen. So, here’s my greeting message with me in traditional Kimono.
New Year’s Shintô Ornament greeting New Year’s gods in. And a random old man.
So, as we knew, photos would be on Ign’s…
But I wanted to have something special for you, as to honor this that I consider a very good exchange. You know… I have been thinking a lot about life, of course, I’m witnessing creation of one! So things like this, even though online, involves people, and something deeper than just everyday instant messaging. Thinking about photography makes me open my eyes more, be mindful of what’s beautiful, of what’s important.
So here’s a little bit of him doing what he does best, crying and sleeping.
…from my trip to Boston (18-25), so pretty fresh. Since I haven’t finished sorting out photos yet it was a bit difficult to pick what I wanted to show, I will show you one of my most favorite place on earth.
1. Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum — me and my best friend dream the same – “I want to live here!” Seriously I would if I could.
In my search for knowledge in order to make decisions for my future, including my son to come, I spent two days in São Paulo to absorb a little bit of how it is to live there.
I have always been fascinated by street art, the scenery and the mix of cultures.
I went up to the 49th floor of the “Mori bldg. Tower” in Tokyo
recently, so I thought I’d send you a photo with a magnificent view –
the place always offers such a beautiful sight.
I’ve been thinking about which to send to you, and will send some from a place I visited with friends.  It’s a place called slo.haus (slow house) and it brings me a lot of peace. It’s a good place to rest the mind.
I loved the light today – and some kimono ladies were roaming, so you see variety of Japanese from different demographic groups, just for fun
The one I choose is one from Paris too. I took it below the Eiffel Tower.
Besides being marveled by the place, I saw this little girl with an active look, from far, when everyone looked away, she went and stole a candy.
I love being able to catch these once-in-a-lifetime moments. So it`s not much about beauty or technique, but capturing society as it really is.
So… your picture was something special because you did something that I personally love. That is, to use glass reflection.
There’s this special place in Bogotá/Colombia that I love, where I can see an old hotel called Tequendama and a new business building Colpatria. In the middle of it, the reflection of the elevators from where I stay. I attached the photograph below.
Here we go, the first of our photo-exchanges; it’s my recent photo from Paris street – I thought the reflection on the window and retro look on the doll’s stare was kind of nice.
